Review: Philips SatinPerfect Epilator

A few weeks ago I recieved a Philips SatinPerfect Epilator to review as a member of BzzAgent.com .  At first, I was a little nervous to try the Epilator, as I'm a leg shaver and was worried that using an epilator might hurt (I'm way too scared to try waxing -- ouch!).  Since I needed to review the product, I decided to be brave and give it a try.

I was happy to find that it didn't hurt as much as I was expecting it to.  It felt similar to the sting you feel when you're plucking your eyebrows, and once I got used to the sensation, it really wasn't too bothersome at all -- almost a little ticklish, maybe.

Upon my first try, I wasn't so sure I was happy with the way the epilator worked.  I didn't think it made my legs as smooth as shaving does, nor did I find it faster than shaving by any means.  My legs were also fairly red and bumpy -- but I was glad to see that the redness faded in about ten minutes time, and the bumps went away overnight (they do suggest in the manual to use it at night, so that your legs can go back to normal, not to use it directly before an event).

I thought the epilator did a good job, but not a "great job", and compared to shaving (which I was already very used to), I wasn't sure I'd make the switch to using the epilator full time.

But then a few days went by.  I didn't need to shave my legs yet.

Then a few more days went by.  I only needed to use the epilator on a few spots that I had missed on the first run anyway.

It's been nearly two weeks since I first used the epilator, and as long as no one was touching my legs (because they don't feel perfectly smooth right now), there's barely any visible leg hair and wouldn't need a 'touch up' yet.

I'm sold.  This is the most amazing thing.  Typically, I'd have to do a quick shave every three or four days if I wanted to keep my legs perfectly smooth.  Nearly TWO WEEKS AND COUNTING, and I can live with my legs how they are.

The Philips SatinPerfect Epilator is awesome, and I highly recommend it if you've been toying with the idea of trying something new for leg hair removal.

I have some $10 off coupons as well, which I'm willing to mail out if anyone would like to email me their mailing address (wonderworrier@gmail.com).  I've had some trouble finding this epilator in stores, though, to know how much it retails for, however I did see a one-step higher version of in my local mall, and that one was about $129.  The Epilator that I received is only for legs, so I think it would cost slightly less than this other version.

CSN Stores review coming soon!

I was recently contacted by CSN Stores with an opportunity to review a product from one of their sites.  I'm really excited to try ordering through them, so that I can share the process with you.  If it all goes well, I might visit them again since I'm on the apartment hunt, and they have a wide range of products, including modern decor.   So, stay tuned for that!

WonderWorrier Recs: got2b Smooth Operator Lustre Lotion

Awhile ago I received a ~*mysterious package*~ in the mail.  There was no indication on the outside of the box as to what I'd find inside.  I was pleasantly surprised when I opened it, to receive two bottles of got2b brand "Smooth Operator smoothing Lustre Lotion" (by Schwarzkopf)I wasn't sure at the time why I'd been so fortunate as to have received such a mysterious gift, but I sure was excited to try the product out.

A few weeks later, I received an email explaining that I'd received the products because of a survey I'd filled out (I can't recall what survey that could have been).  I've been meaning to blog about this ever since, but I just never did!  Well, here I am now.

The Smooth Operator Lustre Lotion (with cashmere) is meant to smooth and control fly-away hair, while being weightless and leaving hair shiny and silky.  It contains a UV protectant and can protect your hair from heat styling (which I do nearly every day).  You simply smooth it through towel-dried hair, and then style as normal.  I also use a little bit on my hair once it's straightened to keep the fly-aways down.

I've been incredibly impressed with this product, and use it nearly daily.  My hair feels soft when I use it, and smells great too.  It's silky and creamy without being greasy.  If you're looking for a stocking stuffer, the 200mL bottle is thin and attractively packaged, so it would fit beautifully into a Christmas stocking.

Disclosure: I received two 200mL sample bottles of this product following an online survey.  I was not paid to write this review, nor were my opinions influenced in any way by the company or its PR representatives.  I simply enjoyed this product after receiving it, and am thus recommending it to you.
